Annual Corned Beef and Cabbage Luncheon

The annual STCNE Corned Beef and cabbage dinner was celebrated at the Public House in Sturbridge Massachusetts 3/13/2022.
The hall as well as many members were decorated in Irish Green for the occasion. Attendees had the opportunity to eat great food and visit sales tables as well as participate in an auction with proceeds benefiting the STCNE. The highlight of this gathering was a talk by George Wright who talked about his engagement in the Scottie community and current trends as well as important aspects of Scottish Terrier ownership.

George Wright who is well known in the Scottish terrier community as a knowledgeable advocate for the breed, has spent his career in the show ring exhibiting, and as an AKC judge, He is a breeder and groomer of terriers. His distinctive Scottish accent added gravitas to his discussion of our Scottish terrier breed.

ANNUAL AWARD BANQUET AND MEMBERSHIP MEETING

The Scottish Terrier Club of New England (STCNE) fall banquet was held at the Public House Inn in Sturbridge Massachusetts on November 7th. The event was well attended by new and old members who were able to enjoy fellowship and celebrate the success of many club members who were victorious in the show ring and other competitions involving our Scotties. Awards were handed out for special achievements.

Attendees were also able to complement their Scottie memorabilia collections either by winning one of several raffles, submitting winning action bids or stopping by the sales tables.

Many scotties were able to talk their owners in to getting pictures with Santa. Several of the Scotties also included their owners in the pictures which will be e-mailed to the dog owners such that they can be printed or included in Facebook posts or otherwise shared with friends and family.

The STCNE President Barbara Ljunggren also informed members about upcoming activities, shared opportunities for further involvement in club activities as well as letting attendees know about the passing of members during the past year.

This successful event was made possible by the many hardworking volunteers who spent hours preparing and working at this event. Thanks to all!
