"Scotties In The Cabin" Quilt
Hand sewn, Log Cabin quilt
The pattern is called Log Cabin and the blocks are joined in the
Barn Raising setting. There are four hearts quilted in the
center and one Scottie in each corner. Each Scottie is a
loving tribute to the quilter's dear Angus Sherre Moore, Lorna Doone,
MacGilvary and Robbie McVelcro. Each stitch represents a tear
and a smile.
It was made to be used; machine washing will not hurt it.
The quilt is donated in memory of Robbie, who loved to play with
his toys while his mistress sewed. When Robbie decided it
was quite enough time sewing, he would pile up his tennis balls
around the foot pedal and listen for the machine to stop. An
endearing look up said, "Time for Treats, Mom!"
