Activities: Our yearly Calendar of
Events includes AKC-sanctioned matches and a Specialty Show, Earthdog matches and an
AKC Earthdog Trial, an annual dinner meeting and awards banquet. All of our events and activities are open to the public.
Spectators and friends are always welcome.
Newsletter: The club newsletter, Scottie Tails, is published quarterly and contains educational articles, health updates and
information on club activities. Subscriptions are open to all
interested individuals. To subscribe, send a $12.00 check or money order payable to STCNE to:
Jim Smith, Treasurer, 428 Clark Hill Rd. New Boston, NH 03070.
Membership: Our current membership consists of over 100
individuals and family units. The club supports several types of activities including obedience, agility, earthdog and conformation. Membership requirements include attending activities
and getting to know at least two club members. Letters of recommendation are required to join. For more information,
contact the
Corresponding Secretary.
- How to become involved
- Have you recently purchased a puppy?
If the breeder was from the New England area, ask if they are a member of our club. If so, ask if they will help you
find a second sponsor and support your membership application. This is probably the easiest way to pursue
membership.
If you purchased a puppy from a pet shop or a breeder that is not a member of our club, check out our schedule of
events and try to attend one so that you can meet club members.
- Do you already have a Scottie, and want to try a new activity?
We too are trying to sponsor new activities. We hosted
our fourth annual Agility Trial in 2003. 1998 was our first AKC sanctioned Earthdog Trial. Trying to host new activities is a challenge and
additional volunteers are always needed. Have you ever helped or volunteered for another organization? Maybe you
have a special talent that you would be willing to share in an effort to help improve our club.
- Do you need "help" with your Scottie?
Maybe your problem is unique, but most likely it is one that we have
experienced before. Send us an e-mail explaining your problem and we will try to help or find you an appropriate source of help.
There are two ways to participate in Club activities and
events. By signing up for the Scottie Tails newsletter, one
can learn about the Club's calendar of events and read about many of
the activities. Membership is a formal process that requires an
application and letters of recommendation from two club members.
